Material Return for after-sales service:

In-warranty service

In the event that a iriver product is defective within the warranty period, it can be returned to iriver for in-warranty service.
Before returning any products to iriver , a Return Material Authorisation (RMA) has to be requested. After verification, iriver may authorise to return the product by issuing a RMA number.

The owner has following options for the service:

  • Return for Repair: the returned product will be repaired and returned (*).
  • Return for Exchange: the returned product will be exchanged and returned.

(*) iriver reserves the right to exchange the product if there turned product cannot be repaired within reasonable time or cost with a good class player in perfect condition.

Replacement players:

  • Replacement players are of the same type as the returned player. The serial number will be different.
  • The replacement player can be any of following category's:
    • New player
    • Revised player
    • Serviced player
    iriver reserves the right to use any of these category's at its own choice.
  • The warranty of the original player is maintained and taken over by the replacement player.
  • iriver reserves the right to use a player of another model/type than the returning player as a replacement. In such case, iriver will propose such replacement and request written confirmation of agreement.
  • After the exchange service, the returned product becomes property of iriver.
  • By applying for the Return for Exchange service, one confirms to know and understand the service conditions.

In case iriver finds any returned players not to be in warranty as described in the Warranty Terms and Conditions, it reserves the right to invoice all service and transport costs.
In no case, iriver can be held responsible for any loss or damages during transports to or from iriver.

DOA (dead-on-arrival) service

iriver recognises your Player being DOA if following conditions are met:

  • The problem is mentioned by written notice (fax or email) to iriver support within 15 days after the purchase date.
  • An RMA number is necessary to return the defective player to iriver, please refer to our RMA-request page for details.
  • upon receipt of the defective player, it will be replaced, if possible, by a new one.
  • a copy of the purchase invoice must be sent with the player to validate the warranty.
  • instructions that come with the RMA confirmation number must be followed strictly.
  • the player may not be damaged
  • if any of these conditions are not met, the procedure is automatically changed to standard RMA service or will return unrepaired if there is no warranty on the unit.

Out-of-warranty service

If your player is not covered by warranty due to the absence of valid proof of warranty or contributory negligence, we will submit a cost estimate after our engineers have keenly checked and tested your device.
The service charge for the technical check amounts to 20,- EUR, which will be cleared with the end price.
In case of decline, we will either return your device for this charge; or dispose it environmentally friendly at our repair centre.
iriver reserves the right to refuse requests for out-of-warranty service e.g. if the player is opened, repaired, modified or altered by third parties.
In case an out-of-warranty service is accepted, iriver will invoice all repair and transport costs.
iriver will not accept any returns without Return Material Authorisation.


Non-EC-Countries

All endusers can return defective goods to iriver Europe GmbH under following conditions:

  • the returned material is in warranty
  • a RMA number is requested and issued by iriver.
  • The returning shipment is sent freight prepaid.

For shipments from countries not belonging to the European Community to iriver, a signed pro-forma invoice must accompany the returning shipment.

Non iriver EU players

iriver Europe GmbH is not obliged to accept players which are purchased outside of Europe/Non EU countries and which were bought through internet from other non iriver EU regions.
